This Discovery Channel special was first aired August 3, 1997. It now runs periodically on several cable channels and we will post channels, dates, and air times here when known.
It documents the tragic fire and explosions that almost destroyed the world's first super carrier on July 29,1967 and is dedicated to those who lost their lives that day. Running time is 50 minutes.
Several Board members of the USS Forrestal Museum, Inc. were directly involved with production of this video (as credited at the end of the production) in the form of interviews, photos, sound clips, etc. Situation Critical it is highly recommended for anyone interested in this tragic event.
